Open Doors to Federal Court

The objective of this national program is to bring high school seniors, teachers, judges, court staff, lawyers, and other community members together to enhance public knowledge and understanding of the federal court system.

The program is a true-to-life simulation of a court proceeding – all conducted by students.   At a mock trial, students play the roles of prosecutor, defense attorney, defendant, witnesses, jurors.

The students learn about court procedures, examination of witnesses, opening and closing arguments, and jury deliberation.
